Our client manufactures specialist tools for the construction industry and is looking for a Production Manager to implement process improvements and assist in growing the team to maximise output and efficiency.
Roles/Responsibilities
- Lead and support a small production team, ensuring daily operations run efficiently and safely.
- Maintain strong performance across output, quality, cost, and delivery targets.
- Apply Lean principles to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Uphold high standards of health and safety across all production activities.
- Mentor and develop staff, including overseeing training, shift planning, and performance reviews.
- Ensure accurate stock levels and manage the flow of incoming and outgoing goods.
- Provide hands-on support when required, assisting operatives during busy periods or staff shortages.
- Collaborate with colleagues at their international site when needed, supporting communication and coordination across locations.
- Report directly to the Managing Director, contributing to wider business goals and operational strategy.
About You
- Proven background in production management within a manufacturing environment.
- Able to step into the role confidently and make an immediate impact.
- Strong experience applying Lean methodologies and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Naturally looks for ways to streamline processes, reduce waste, and boost efficiency.
- A hands-on, team-focused mindset.
- Understanding of CNC or machining processes is beneficial, but not essential.
