The company has an enviable reputation for design excellence and is the supplier of choice for customer applications across the globe. The role: Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of NPI projects from initial concept, production to customer handover. You will be required to interpret customer requirements, define customer specifications and develop robust Mechanical Design solutions to time and budget. Your responsibilities: o Design: Ensure suitability of proposed Design solutions by using appropriate engineering principles e.g. Design for manufacture, reliability analysis, DFMEA, PFMEA, tolerance analysis, stress analysis o Project Management: Ensure delivery of all associated aspects of the projects to time and cost. o Testing: Define and conduct Product Testing, Mechanical (endurance, shock, vibration etc) and Environmental (temperature, humidity, chemical etc). o Customers: Provide technical support and guidance to the customer throughout the Project lifecycle. Knowledge, Skills & Experience: o Ideally Degree Qualified in Mechanical Engineering o Experienced in the use of SolidWorks for the design of mechanical components (with an understanding of stress, wear and failure) and plastic components. o At least 3-4 years Project Engineering / Project Management experience within the field of Mechanical Product design.
