This is a great opportunity for a design engineer to join well established business who have recently won new contracts. This role would be well suited to a designer who enjoys running projects, as well as prototyping and Cad work. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide reliable, cost effective designs that maintain compliance to Product Specification.
- Coordinate prototype procurement / manufacture for concept design validation.
- Ensure design validation (inc. tolerance analysis, calculation, FEA as required) is achieved and documented.
- Produce 3D models and 2D drawings and other technical documentation.
- Coordinate regular cross-functional design and DFM reviews, documenting actions / minutes.
- Check and approve designs (3D and 2D), calculations and reports.
- Prepare and amend costed BOMs through all project phases.
Requirements
- Design engineering role within dynamic manufacturing organisation.
- Track record of successful new product development and introduction.
- Hands-on, practical engineering skill (i.e. prototype building, testing).
- Proven 3D and 2D capability (AutoCad inventor or equivalent).
- Preparation and amendment of costed BOM\’s and routings.
