We're supporting an organisation in Somerset that's looking for an IT Systems & Network Lead to take charge of their on-site technical setup. If you're someone who enjoys being the go-to person for all things IT from day-to-day fixes to steering longer-term improvements, this could be a really rewarding role.

You'll be the senior technical presence on site, working closely with staff, supporting users, guiding the IT team, and keeping everything running smoothly. It's a great mix of hands-on technical work and the chance to genuinely shape how technology is used across the organisation. This is a fully on-site, Monday to Friday position, so it suits someone who likes being embedded in a busy environment and being part of the day-to-day action.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the day-to-day running of all on-site IT systems and digital services
  • Managing and developing the on-site IT support team
  • Acting as the senior escalation point for technical issues and service concerns
  • Ensuring a high-quality user experience and overseeing incident/problem management
  • Maintaining oversight of infrastructure, networking, cloud services and applications
  • Owning cyber security controls, data protection measures and safeguarding-related technology
  • Supporting the development and delivery of long-term IT and digital plans
  • Managing relationships with third-party suppliers and service providers
  • Monitoring and maintaining business continuity and disaster recovery arrangements
  • Keeping documentation, asset records and technical knowledge bases up to date
  • Working with leadership to plan and manage IT budgets and forecast requirements

  • Confident communicator with good stakeholder management skills
  • Background in ITIL or structured service management frameworks
  • Experience in regulated, multi-stakeholder, or education-style environments
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, identity management & endpoint management
  • Experience in the Education Sector
