Mechanical Bias Maintenance Engineer
Location: Heywood
Salary: £42,000-£44,000 DOE

An established and highly respected global manufacturer is seeking a mechanically biased Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join its flagship operation in Heywood. This is an excellent opportunity to work with advanced production equipment at a site that continues to invest heavily in automation, engineering excellence, and innovative technologies.
Role Overview
- Deliver planned preventative and reactive maintenance activities to optimise equipment performance, reduce downtime, and improve overall reliability
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve a variety of mechanical faults while assisting with electrical maintenance tasks where necessary
- Collaborate with fellow engineers, production personnel, and key stakeholders to maintain efficient site operations
- Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures while championing a strong safety-first culture across the site
- Identify areas for continuous improvement and support initiatives that enhance operational performance
- Play an active role in engineering projects, equipment upgrades, and site improvement programmes
Skills & Experience Required
- Apprentice trained or time-served Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with multi-skilled experience
- Background within Food, FMCG, Packaging, Manufacturing, or another fast-moving production environment would be highly advantageous
- Strong mechanical fault-finding expertise covering conveyors, pumps, motors, bearings, gearboxes, pneumatics, and associated machinery
- Exposure xgikmsk to basic electrical maintenance and fault diagnosis would be beneficial
- Able to thrive within a fast-paced and demanding manufacturing environment
