An industry-leading manufacturer is seeking a Maintenance Manager to join its Aylesbury operation. This position has become available due to the planned retirement of a long-serving engineer within the business. To ensure a smooth transition, the successful candidate will benefit from a comprehensive handover period, providing a unique opportunity to inherit extensive site knowledge while bringing fresh ideas and leadership to the department.
This is a pivotal role within the business. You'll effectively lead all engineering activities on site, driving reliability, efficiency and continuous improvement while managing a small team of multi-skilled engineers. Importantly, this role is open to ambitious Senior Engineers or Team Leaders looking to take the next step in their career.
The Role
- As Maintenance Manager, you'll take responsibility for the overall engineering function, ensuring equipment reliability, site safety and maintenance excellence.
- Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing daily maintenance activities, breakdowns and planned maintenance schedules
- Driving preventative maintenance strategies and long-term asset reliability
- Ensuring machinery downtime is minimised and production performance is maximised
- Managing maintenance inspections, calibration programmes and compliance activities
- Leading CAPEX projects, machinery installations, refurbishments and automation improvements
- Managing maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory and engineering costs
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives around reliability, downtime reduction, energy efficiency and sustainability
What We're Looking For
- Electrically qualified (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, HNC or equivalent)
- Multi-skilled maintenance experience within a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical and automation systems
- Knowledge of PLCs and automated manufacturing equipment
- Strong communication and leadership skills
