Role & Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support the Stores team in day-to-day operations, including checking products against drawings, putting away stock correctly, and picking accurate products and quantities for jobs.
- Act as the first point of contact for Stores staff, allocating tasks, monitoring progress, and providing guidance and training where required.
- Assist the Stores Manager in stock control activities including stock taking, replenishment, labelling, and paperwork.
- Maintain an organised and safe warehouse environment, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards and promoting good housekeeping.
- Liaise with other departments to ensure stock is available to meet production and project requirements.
- Escalate significant stock discrepancies, supply issues, or process concerns to the Stores Manager, recommending improvements where appropriate.
- Take responsibility for ensuring the stores area and related facilities are always clean, safe, and presentable.
- Support the Stores Manager in driving efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the team.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in a stores/warehouse role is essential, with some supervisory or team leader experience preferred.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to lead by example in a hands-on role.
- Confident working on own initiative and making day-to-day decisions, while knowing when to escalate to the Stores Manager.
- Reach Forklift operator certification/licence is required; Counterbalance licence is an advantage.
- Full clean driving licence required.
- Committed to safe systems of work and maintaining high standards of health and safety.
