An established and highly respected precision engineering manufacturer is looking to appoint a Quality Inspector to join the business. Operating within a highly regulated, precision manufacturing environment, you'll work autonomously while playing a key role across inspection, auditing, calibration, quality documentation and mentoring the next generation of quality professionals. As Quality Inspector, you'll enjoy a varied position with a balance of hands-on inspection and quality systems responsibilities.
Key duties include:
- Inspection of raw materials, machined components, fabricated parts and finished assemblies
- Programming and operating CMM and Faro Arm equipment
- Producing detailed inspection reports and quality documentation
- Completing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
- Managing calibration schedules and calibration records
- Conducting Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections when qualified
- Identifying recurring quality issues and carrying out root cause investigations
- Supporting production and engineering teams to improve quality performance
- Leading and supporting internal and external audits
- Maintaining assembly certificates, coating records, inspection reports and NDT documentation
- Training, mentoring and developing a Trainee Inspector
What We're Looking For:
- Quality Inspection experience within a manufacturing environment
- CMM programming experience
- Faro Arm inspection experience
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
- Experience managing detailed quality documentation
