We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist automation engineering company for an Automation Engineer to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of automation projects within manufacturing sectors, delivering PLC, SCADA and HMI solutions from concept through to commissioning.

The successful candidate will be involved in all stages of project delivery, including PLC programming, HMI development, software testing and on-site commissioning across the UK and Ireland.

Shift: 8am-4pm Mon-Fri, Flexible working hours

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary up to 65,000 (dependent on experience)
  • Annual bonus up to 20%

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and modify PLC software for automated process control systems
  • Design and configure HMI and SCADA applications
  • Deliver automation projects through all phases from design to commissioning
  • Participate in software testing, validation and final sign-off activities
  • Attend customer sites across the UK and Ireland for commissioning and start-up support
  • Work closely with customers and project teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Work with process equipment including pumps, valves, temperature transmitters and liquid handling systems

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with PLC programming in a manufacturing environment
  • Siemens, Mitsubishi and Allen Bradley PLC experience (essential for experienced candidates)
  • SCADA experience (desirable)
  • Previous automation project experience
  • Knowledge of liquid processing systems, pumps, valves and instrumentation
  • Electrical or Electronic Engineering apprenticeship, HNC/HND or degree desirable
  • Ability and willingness to travel to customer sites across the UK and Ireland
  • Junior candidates with PLC experience will be considered and provided with full training
