Key Account Procurement Specialist Abertillery Up to £40'000 I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing client for an experienced Key Account Procurement Specialist to join their Purchasing & Supply Chain team. This is a hands-on role with responsibility for supporting a major strategic customer, managing procurement activities, supplier relationships, material availability, purchase orders and potential supply risks. Salary & Benefits: A starting salary of £34'000 to £40'000 Excellent training and development Roles & Responsibilities: Manage the day-to-day procurement relationship for a key customer. Raise and manage purchase orders in line with MRP and customer demand. Monitor supplier delivery dates, acknowledgements and outstanding orders. Manage material shortages, supplier delays and supply issues through to resolution. Provide customers with clear updates on material availability, lead times and potential supply risks. Build strong working relationships with customers and suppliers. Work closely with Planning and Operations to ensure material availability supports production requirements. Liaise with Engineering on component changes, obsolescence, substitutions and NPI. Monitor and challenge supplier performance, including On-Time Delivery (OTD). Support supplier negotiations, cost-reduction activities and alternative sourcing. Identify potential supply chain risks and take proactive action to minimise disruption. Maintain accurate purchasing information within ERP/MRP systems. Essential: Previous experience within Purchasing, Procurement or Supply Chain. Experience working within a manufacturing environment. Good knowledge of purchasing processes and supplier management. Experience using ERP/MRP systems. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Commercially aware and confident challenging suppliers. Strong organisational and problem-solving skills. Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
