Role

  • Lead the design and development of bespoke special purpose machinery from concept through to manufacture and installation.
  • Manage multiple engineering projects, taking ownership of technical decisions and project delivery.
  • Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD designs, engineering calculations and validation activities.
  • Conduct stress calculations, design reviews and testing to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Work directly with customers to understand technical challenges and develop innovative engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, technical sales and leadership teams to drive continuous improvement and product development.
  • Support the future growth of the engineering department, with opportunities to develop leadership and mentoring responsibilities.

Experience

  • Experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a background in heavy engineering, special purpose machinery or other safety‑critical applications.
  • Proven experience managing projects from concept through to production.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, stress calculations and engineering analysis.
  • Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD design.
