Exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Manager within a highly automated, high‑production environment, driving equipment reliability, continuous improvement, and process optimisation. The role focuses on maximising uptime, strengthening engineering infrastructure, providing strong leadership, and ensuring data‑led, financially effective decision‑making.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead TPM across AM, PPM, and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime.
  • Drive reliability through preventive, predictive, and data‑driven maintenance.
  • Embed continuous improvement and eliminate repeat failures.
  • Optimise engineering processes to support high‑volume automated production.
  • Lead and develop the maintenance team with strong technical and behavioural guidance.
  • Prioritise maintenance workload to meet fast‑paced production demands.
  • Use performance data (OEE, downtime, MTTR) to drive targeted improvements.
  • Deliver engineering projects including upgrades, installations, and RCA‑based solutions.
  • Manage budgets and spares for financial control and critical‑part availability.
  • Oversee contractors ensuring compliance, quality, and value.
  • Ensure safety compliance (LOTO, PTW, PUWER, LOLER) and maintain RAMS.
  • Maintain facilities & 5S with high housekeeping standards.

Qualifications

  • Multi‑skilled engineering background — Mechanical/electrical apprenticeship, NVQ, City & Guilds.
  • Engineering qualifications — HNC/HND.
  • Safety certification — IOSH Managing Safely.
  • Lean/CI expertise — Lean, Six Sigma, or CI methodologies.
  • Manufacturing leadership experience in high‑production environments.
  • Analytical, data‑led problem solving with proven reliability and downtime improvements.
  • Systems capability — SAP and Microsoft applications.
  • Strong understanding of preventive/predictive maintenance.
