Would you like to work for a growing local business that has the job security of being part of a global food manufacturer? Due to additional high-speed production lines being installed they are looking for a new Shift Engineer to join their team.
Role & Responsibilities
- Responsible for reactive & planned maintenance across all areas of engineering – manufacturing, production, site services, infrastructure & plant equipment
- Carry out PPM schedules effectively and efficiently
- Working on high-speed production & packaging lines
- Involved with site project work – installations & upgrades to machinery
- Electrical & mechanical fault finding & repairs
- Dealing with pneumatics, motors, bearings, shafts, gearboxes, drives, hydraulics, compressors
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Multi-skilled maintenance engineer – ideally electrical biased
- City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 qualified in engineering as a minimum requirement
- Must have completed a time-served-apprenticeship
- Worked in a similar fast-paced manufacturing environment
- PLC – electrical fault finding skills
- Able to work to time sensitive breakdowns and repairs
- Worked on structured PPMs – on own initiative and as part of a team
- Comfortable working in refrigerated and freezer type conditions
- Mechanical fabrication, fitting, welding, machining skills beneficial
