Commutable from Rochester, Chatham, Gillingham, Maidstone, Sittingbourne, Gravesend, Strood. Day shift Monday to Friday.

A great opportunity for a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a manufacturing environment. Working under the Engineering Manager, you’ll support the safe, reliable and compliant operation of production, packing and auxiliary equipment. This role combines both mechanical and electrical responsibilities, covering reactive and preventative maintenance while ensuring engineering standards are upheld.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance on production, packing and site equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults, completing repairs and adjustments to engineering standards.
  • Support equipment changeovers, set‑ups and commissioning activities to ensure efficient production start‑ups.
  • Maintain accurate engineering records, work orders and spare‑parts usage within the CMMS.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality and Technical teams to ensure safe, compliant and efficient operations.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Maintenance Engineer within a regulated manufacturing environment (nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, food, FMCG or similar).
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault‑finding skills, with familiarity in Root Cause Analysis.
  • Understanding of GMP, Food Safety principles, safe working practices and engineering compliance.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals and engineering documentation.
  • Competent using CMMS systems, with strong communication skills and a proactive, reliable approach.
