Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off (7am–7pm & 7pm–7am – rotating days and nights)

Salary: £57,289 per annum + paid overtime at 1.5x

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanically Skilled Engineer to join a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. This is a key position within a multi‑skilled engineering team, responsible for maintaining and improving the performance, reliability, and safety of high‑speed production equipment. You will also be given electrical training courses and qualifications to become a multi‑skilled maintenance engineer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair fast‑moving, complex manufacturing equipment to minimise downtime
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and PLC‑related faults
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Work on pumps, valves, conveyors, and high‑speed machinery
  • Apply strong root cause analysis techniques to prevent recurring issues
  • Collaborate closely with production, quality, and engineering teams
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, and compliance

About You

You will be an apprentice‑trained engineer with strong experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment. You’ll be confident working independently and as part of a cross‑functional team.

  • Proven experience in a multi‑skilled engineering role within a fast‑moving manufacturing or logistics environment
  • Strong mechanical and electrical engineering background
  • Experience working on high‑speed machinery, pumps, valves, and PLCs
  • Good working knowledge of filling and process technologies
  • Excellent problem‑solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Solid understanding of preventative maintenance techniques
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and cross‑functional working skills
