- Make sure the daily production plan is met by organising labour, equipment, and materials and adjusting staffing where needed.
- Handle day‑to‑day people management, including training, performance discussions, recruiting support, and dealing with issues fairly and promptly.
- Take ownership of health, safety and environment standards, investigating incidents, updating systems, completing risk assessments, and driving safer ways of working.
- Use lean tools to improve processes, support preventative maintenance activities, manage time‑and‑attendance, and build good relationships with union reps.
