Do you want to work for a leading FMCG manufacturer that is making a huge investment in the factory over the next 5 years? Due to this growth and new production lines being installed, they are looking to grow the engineering function with the addition of new shift engineers.
Role & Responsibilities of a shift engineer:
- Provide electrical & mechanical support & repairs for all production equipment & site services
- Supporting the engineering shift managers with project work – new machine & production line installs
- PPM’s, electrical & mechanical fault finding, problem solving, machine upgrades
- PLC – electrical fault finding
- Mechanical fabrication, fitting, machining & welding to make parts & repairs
- Work as part of a weekend call-out / standby rota when needed (£200 additional payments)
Knowledge, Skills & Experience needed to be a shift engineer:
- Must be a multi-skilled engineer (electrical & mechanical)
- Apprenticeship trained or a time-served engineering with mechanical & electrical qualifications
- At least 4 years+ experience previously working in FMCG or packaging manufacturing
- Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong electrical & mechanical fault finding & problem solving skills
- PLC – electrical fault finding – Siemens
- Experience of carrying out CI projects, new machine installations
- Experienced in planning & scheduling PPM work
- Must be happy covering a weekend call-out / standby cover when needed (additional payments)
- Mechanical fabrication, fitting, welding & machining skills beneficial
