Location: Surrey

Salary: Up to £57,320 (including overtime & standby)

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and optimise operational instrumentation and control systems to improve compliance, reliability, and performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues quickly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical teams to prioritise and deliver maintenance activities.
  • Use your expertise in industrial control and instrumentation to recommend process improvements.
  • Support root cause analysis and take ownership of solutions.
  • Mentor apprentices, supervise contractors, and champion engineering excellence.
  • Participate in a standby rota to ensure 24/7 resilience for our customers.
Qualifications:
  • BTEC Diploma (or equivalent) in a technical discipline or time-served apprenticeship - ideally instrumentation or electrical.
  • 2+ years' experience with SCADA/control systems (water or similar process industry preferred).
  • Familiarity with telemetry, PLCs, industrial comms, or distributed control systems.
  • Confident with Windows OS & Microsoft Office tools.
  • A clean UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.
  • Above all: a self-starter who thrives on autonomy and problem-solving.
