Job Summary:
Join a globally recognised manufacturing business as a Production Shift Manager. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead and support Team Leaders and Production Operators – keeping communication open on the shop floor, running briefings, and promoting a strong safety and quality culture.
- Make sure the daily production plan is met by organising labour, equipment, and materials and adjusting staffing where needed.
- Handle day-to-day people management, including training, performance discussions, recruiting support, and dealing with issues fairly and promptly.
- Take ownership of health, safety and environment standards, investigating incidents, updating systems, completing risk assessments, and driving safer ways of working.
- Use lean tools to improve processes, support preventative maintenance activities, manage time-and-attendance, and build good relationships with union reps.
Requirements:
- Manufacturing background – the role is better suited to someone coming from an engineering industry.
- Flexibility to work on a shift basis.
- Experience dealing with unions would be beneficial.
- Experience with people management and overseeing teams of 30.
- Strong understanding of HSE requirements.
