We are recruiting on behalf of an innovative manufacturing business based near Exeter, seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to play a key role in supporting new product development, improving manufacturing processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
The Role:
- Provide manufacturing and assembly expertise throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Drive Design for Manufacture (DFM) and assembly improvement initiatives.
- Lead R&D projects focused on cost reduction and quality enhancement.
- Deliver continuous improvements across existing products and processes.
- Collaborate with NPD engineers to develop practical manufacturing solutions.
- Conduct component and assembly tolerance assessments.
- Lead and support DFMEA reviews and risk assessments.
- Identify and mitigate manufacturing risks prior to production.
- Support the successful transition of new products from design to manufacture.
What we are looking for:
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong understanding of engineering design principles and Design for Manufacture (DFM).
- Ability to create and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Excellent knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing, assembly techniques, materials, and tolerancing.
- Experience identifying manufacturing risks during product development and design stages.
