Our client is an established food manufacturer, part of a larger global group, with multiple sites worldwide. Due to growth & CI Projects at the site, they are looking for a new maintenance engineer to join their production & packaging team.
Role & Responsibilities
- Carry out planned, reactive maintenance and safety checks on all high-speed food production lines, packaging machinery, conveyors, metal detectors, labellers, baggers, checkweighers, PLC's, control panels, robotics, depositors
- Electrical & mechanical fault finding, repairs, stripdowns & overhauls
- Working on motors, gearboxes, VSD's, inverters, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, drives, bearings
- Improving plant availability, reliability and continuous improvement work
- Monitor contractors on site, ordering spares & parts
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
- Ideally have completed a recognised apprenticeship
- HNC / HND qualified in Engineering
- Electrical & mechanical fault finding and problem solving skills
- Previously have dealt with industrial processing & equipment and manufacturing systems
- Must have worked in a similar food manufacturing or FMCG environment
- Knowledge of electrical safety isolation procedures would be beneficial
- Must have worked on motors, sensors, inverters, gearboxes, VSD's, pneumatics, drives
- Experience of using SAP would be beneficial
- Advantageous if worked with PLC systems
- Any experience of working in an ATEX / CompEX environment would be great
