Role & Responsibilities
- Product Design and development of medical devices from concept to market release.
- Compile the Design History File (DHF) covering product design, specifications, DFMEA, design testing, verification, validation and usability.
- Lead the project’s actions in the UK and with the manufacturer (design transfer).
- Provide engineering requirement for Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
- Maintain allocated legacy DHFs.
- Carry out verification and validation of components and assemblies (ISIR and appropriate testing).
- Record all formal and relevant informal engineering information in the PLM system.
- Modify/amend new or existing drawings in accordance with design standards.
- Perform any other reasonable duties requested by the manager.
Qualifications
- Problem‑solving techniques, e.g., DFMEA / Risk Analysis.
- Experience in compiling usability engineering files.
- Experience working as a Design Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of design requirements for extruded/moulded parts.
- Understanding of ISO13485:2003/MED DEV 93/42/EEC and/or FDA regulations.
- Experience with a Product Life‑Cycle Management System and/or ERP System.
- Bill Of Materials creation and management.
