We are hiring for our client, a specialist contractor and fabricator delivering roofing, cladding, glazing and metalwork systems across the UK and Ireland, for an experienced Design Manager to lead their design function. Working across high-rise, commercial, industrial and public sector projects, the Design Manager will direct the production, coordination and delivery of all design information, ensuring outputs align with project programmes and the company's Technical Governance Framework.

The Role:
- Manage a multi-tiered design team of senior, intermediate and junior designers, draftsmen and document controllers
- Own the Design Programme across all live projects, aligning with procurement, fabrication and site sequences
- Apply BIM principles and ISO 19650 standards, managing TIDPs, IRSs and design status within the CDE
- Ensure design development remains within commercially secured scope, escalating change through formal control procedures
- Coordinate RFIs and technical submissions in line with contractual requirements
- Build strong cross-functional relationships with commercial, preconstruction, manufacturing and site teams
The Person:
- Qualification in Construction Management, Architectural Technology, Structural Engineering or similar
- Proven experience managing a design team within construction, with direct responsibility for programme and compliance
- Experience with JCT/NEC/Bespoke contracts and ISO 9001-aligned quality systems
- Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations and the Building Safety Act
- Chartered status (ARB, CIAT, CIOB, RICS) desirable
