This is a significant appointment within the engineering function, reporting directly into the Head of Engineering and reflecting the continued growth and ambition of the business. The successful Maintenance Manager will take ownership of the day-to-day maintenance function across a 24/7 manufacturing operation, leading a team of shift engineers while playing an active role in capital investment and improvement projects alongside the Engineering Manager and wider projects team. Top 3 Things to Know About This Job Newly created role reflecting the continued growth and investment within the business Lead a 24/7 shift engineering team reporting directly into the Head of Engineering Active involvement in major CAPEX projects alongside the Engineering Manager and projects team The Role Take ownership of all day-to-day maintenance activity across a 24/7 FMCG manufacturing operation, ensuring maximum plant availability and reliability at all times Lead, manage and develop a team of shift engineers, building capability, driving performance and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement Own and deliver the planned preventative maintenance programme, reducing unplanned downtime and improving overall equipment effectiveness across the site Work closely with the Head of Engineering and projects team to support the scoping, planning and delivery of major CAPEX projects, ensuring maintenance considerations are built in from the outset Drive root cause analysis on recurring breakdowns and equipment failures, implementing corrective actions and sharing learnings across the engineering team Manage contractor activity on site, ensuring all third party engineering work is delivered safely, on time and to the required standard Ensure full compliance with health and safety, food safety and environmental legislation across all maintenance and engineering activities Manage the maintenance budget, controlling spend on spare parts, consumables and engineering services in line with agreed targets Collaborate closely with production, technical and quality teams to minimise the impact of engineering activity on output and customer service levels Monitor and report on engineering KPIs to the Head of Engineering, providing clear visibility of maintenance performance across the site The Person HNC or above in Mechanical, Electrical or a related Engineering discipline, or time served with a minimum of five years in a maintenance management or supervisory role within manufacturing Proven experience managing a maintenance team in a fast-paced FMCG or food manufacturing environment, ideally across a 24/7 shift operation Solid knowledge of PPM systems and asset management best practice Experience of involvement in CAPEX projects, from initial scoping through to installation and commissioning Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to engage, develop and hold a shift engineering team accountable Good working knowledge of health and safety legislation and food safety requirements including HACCP Commercially aware with experience managing maintenance budgets and controlling engineering spend A hands-on leader who leads from the front and is comfortable working alongside their team when required The Rewards Competitive salary reflective of experience Newly created role with the opportunity to shape and develop the maintenance function from the outset Active involvement in major capital investment projects Full-time permanent position within a growing, well-established FMCG food manufacturer in Co Tyrone Next Steps For further information and to apply for this Maintenance Manager role, please contact Conor O'Hagan at Hunter Savage.
