We are hiring for our client, a well-established food manufacturing business, who are seeking a Technical Services Manager to support and continuously improve food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across their site. This role will act as a key technical interface between the business, customers, and suppliers, with responsibility for the Quality Management System, internal audits, supplier approval, and customer technical support. Working closely with Technical, Quality, NPD, Operations, and Maintenance teams, the Technical Services Manager will ensure the site remains fully audit-ready and compliant with BRCGS, HACCP, and legislative requirements.

The Role

  • Maintain and continuously improve the site Quality Management System (QMS) in line with BRCGS, HACCP, and legislative requirements
  • Lead internal audit programmes, manage third-party audit actions, and ensure timely close-out
  • Act as a core member of the HACCP team, supporting food safety risk assessments and controls
  • Manage supplier approval programmes, including evaluation, audits, re-approval, and performance monitoring
  • Own horizon scanning, food fraud, authenticity, vulnerability assessments, and mitigation plans
  • Manage customer complaints, investigations, trending, reporting, and technical responses
  • Support customer submissions, retailer portals, and technical documentation, including specifications
  • Host and support customer, certification, and regulatory audits
  • Work closely with Operations and Maintenance to ensure acceptable fabrication and maintenance standards
  • Ensure all technical systems remain audit-ready at all times

The Person

  • Proven experience in a Technical Services Manager or similar food safety / quality systems role
  • Strong working knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, food legislation, and retailer codes of practice
  • Experience managing audits, supplier approval, complaints, and technical documentation
  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage customers, auditors, and internal teams
  • Detail-driven with a proactive, risk-based approach to food safety and quality
