We are hiring for our client – a reputable and expanding construction firm – who are seeking an experienced Estimator to join their commercial team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Estimator looking to lead on estimating functions, support financial control, and play a pivotal role in the success of both tender and live projects.

The successful Estimator will work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to prepare accurate cost estimates, manage pricing, and ensure commercial viability across various contracts. The Role:

  • Prepare accurate tender submissions, material/labour take-offs, and cost estimates
  • Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing
  • Analyse and assess risks, and implement value engineering opportunities
  • Support live projects through cost control, re-measurements, variations, and reporting
  • Maintain cost databases, benchmark data, and forecasting tools
  • Collaborate with commercial, procurement, and operations teams
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in estimating processes

The Person:

  • Level 3 qualification or higher in Estimating, Quantity Surveying, Construction, or similar
  • 3+ years\’ experience in a construction estimating role
  • Proven track record preparing tenders and managing bid pricing
  • Commercially astute with strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Able to work independently, under pressure, and to tight deadlines
  • IT proficient, ideally with experience in estimating software (e.g., Conquest or Causeway)
