Hunter Savage is partnering with a highly respected system integrator delivering electrical and control solutions across a broad range of industrial sectors, including water & wastewater, heavy recycling, food & beverage, and other process-driven environments. Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their engineering team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for graduate or HND-qualified engineers, as well as time-served electricians, to develop a long-term career in electrical design within a technically strong and supportive environment.

The Role
Working as part of a multi-discipline engineering team, you will be involved in the electrical design of control and automation systems across a diverse portfolio of industrial projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Producing electrical designs for system integration projects across multiple sectors
- Creating schematics, layouts, panel designs, and technical documentation
- Supporting senior engineers throughout the project lifecycle
- Collaborating with electrical, software, and commissioning teams
- Using electrical design tools such as EPLAN (preferred) or AutoCAD
- Participating in internal design reviews and quality assurance procedures
- Liaising with suppliers, panel builders, and site-based teams
The Person
This role is open to candidates from a variety of backgrounds, provided there is a strong technical foundation and a genuine interest in electrical design. You may be:
- Degree or HND qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or
- A time-served electrician with industrial experience looking to transition into design
You will ideally demonstrate:
- A solid understanding of industrial electrical systems
- Exposure to environments such as water, recycling, food & beverage, or manufacturing
- Some familiarity with AutoCAD or electrical design software (not essential)
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and communication skills
- A proactive mindset and willingness to learn
