An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced SHEQ Manager to join a leading subcontractor in the heavy engineering manufacturing sector, based in the Coleraine area. This role will focus on overseeing Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) systems, ensuring that the company’s operations meet the highest standards in compliance, performance, and safety. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining ISO certifications, supporting operational excellence, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Management: Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 3834, and EN 1090 standards across all projects. Oversee quality assurance processes during production, final assembly, and customer deliverables. Manage non-conformance reports, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions. Lead internal and external audits to ensure ISO certification readiness.
- Health, Safety & Environmental Management: Provide strategic oversight for safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments. Ensure compliance with ISO 45001 (H&S) and ISO 14001 (Environmental). Oversee safety procedures, subcontractor safety compliance, and incident investigations. Lead the development and implementation of safety policies aligned with legal and operational requirements.
- Leadership and Continuous Improvement: Foster a proactive quality-first culture within the organization. Champion the continuous improvement of SHEQ performance, using data and audits to drive change. Support the professional development of the SHEQ team and provide high-level technical guidance. Report on SHEQ performance and safety metrics, driving strategic decisions based on analysis.

Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Essential: 10+ years’ experience in a senior SHEQ role, ideally in the manufacturing or construction sector. Proven experience in implementing and maintaining ISO accreditations. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 qualification in Health and Safety. Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation relevant to the Engineering industry. Full driving licence and the ability to travel to sites within Northern Ireland.
- Preferred: ISO Internal Auditor certification. NEBOSH National Construction Certificate or equivalent. Experience within construction or engineering/fabrication projects.
