Job Title: Buyer Due to continued growth, our client, a well-established and successful FMCG food manufacturing business based in Co Tyrone, is looking to appoint an experienced Buyer. This is a key commercial role sitting within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, reporting directly into the Head of Supply Chain and playing a central role in ensuring the business has the right materials, at the right price, at the right time. The successful Buyer will support the procurement strategy across the business, working closely with the Head of Supply Chain to deliver commercial value, maintain supplier relationships and keep the supply chain running efficiently across the site. Top 3 Things to Know About This Job Key procurement role reporting directly into the Head of Supply Chain Fast-paced FMCG food manufacturing environment based in Co Tyrone Opportunity to join a well-established and growing business at an exciting stage of development The Role Manage the day to day procurement of raw materials, packaging and indirect goods and services, ensuring continuity of supply at optimal cost Support the Head of Supply Chain in supplier negotiations, contributing market intelligence and pricing analysis to help secure the best possible commercial terms Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, conducting regular performance reviews and managing any supply issues proactively Produce accurate demand forecasts in conjunction with production and planning teams, ensuring stock levels are maintained to meet manufacturing requirements Monitor and manage stock control, minimising waste, obsolescence and excess inventory while maintaining appropriate buffer stocks for key raw materials Track commodity markets and raw material price trends, providing timely intelligence to support purchasing decisions and budget planning Identify and present cost saving opportunities across the supply base for review and approval by the Head of Supply Chain Manage purchase orders, delivery schedules and supplier lead times through the ERP system, ensuring accurate and up to date procurement records Support new product development by sourcing new materials and packaging in conjunction with technical and NPD teams Manage supplier approval processes in line with food safety and quality requirements, ensuring all suppliers meet BRC and relevant compliance standards Prepare detailed cost comparisons, tender analysis and procurement reports for the Head of Supply Chain and senior management The Person Proven experience in a buying or procurement role, ideally within an FMCG or food manufacturing environment Comfortable supporting and contributing to commercial negotiations, with a good understanding of what drives supplier pricing and terms Experience in raw material procurement, demand forecasting and stock management Commercially aware with a solid understanding of commodity markets and how price movements impact a manufacturing business Proficient in ERP or MRP systems with strong analytical and reporting skills Excellent communication and relationship management skills, comfortable engaging with suppliers and internal stakeholders at all levels A proactive, organised and detail-oriented approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of food safety and supplier approval requirements including BRC is desirable The Rewards Competitive salary reflective of experience Full time permanent position based in Co Tyrone Opportunity to join a growing, well-established FMCG food manufacturer at a key stage of its development A commercially focused role with real scope for development and progression within the supply chain function Next Steps For further information and to apply for this Buyer role, please contact Conor O'Hagan at Hunter Savage.
