We are hiring for our client, a well-established professional services firm based in Belfast, who are seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to join their finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in banking transactions and cashiering to play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting business operations.

The Role:
Banking Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date bank account records
- Process, key, and co-authorise electronic payments before cut-off times
- Collaborate with internal teams and branch banking staff to manage transactional funds
- Post client cash, direct debits, and supplier payments accurately to ledgers
- Process and print cheques daily
- Reconcile multiple bank accounts daily
- Manage foreign currency payments and ensure funds are moved between bank accounts as necessary
- Resolve queries with banks, solicitors, clients, and government organisations
Other Duties:
- Manage and organise the general accounts mailbox, actioning emails promptly
- Provide support to other members of the finance team as needed
- Ensure smooth communication between the finance team and other departments
The Person - What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Minimum of 1 years' experience in a busy transactional finance role
- Proven experience in cashiering or bookkeeping, preferably in a regulated or professional services environment
- Experience with computerised accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and meeting cut-off times
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
