We are hiring for our client, a successful FMCG organisation based in the Newry area, to appoint an Accounts Assistant on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This Accounts Assistant role offers an excellent opportunity to join a busy finance team and provide key support across day-to-day accounting activities. The successful Accounts Assistant will assist with financial administration, reporting, reconciliations and maintaining accurate records within a fast-paced business environment. The Role

  • Provide support across daily finance and accounting activities
  • Process invoices, payments and financial transactions accurately
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and account reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
  • Support month-end processes and reporting requirements
  • Assist with accounts payable and general ledger activities
  • Investigate and resolve finance queries where required
  • Update and maintain finance systems and spreadsheets
  • Support the wider finance team with ad hoc tasks and projects

The Person

  • Previous experience within an accounts assistant, finance administrator or similar role
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good numerical skills with confidence working with financial data
  • Organised with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence using finance systems
  • Available immediately or at short notice
  • Experience within FMCG or a fast-paced environment would be advantageous
