Location: Leeds (Hybrid/Remote)

This opportunity is for an experienced Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer to join a growing Building Services team delivering projects in the education, industrial, and commercial sectors. Based in Leeds, the role offers a hybrid working model, with the flexibility to work remotely and collaborate in person when needed.
Your New Role
As a key technical and project leader, youll take responsibility for the mechanical design and delivery of building services projects from concept through to completion. You€ll work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams, managing your own workload while mentoring junior engineers and engaging with clients.
You€ll contribute to projects ranging from new-build education campuses and research facilities, to sustainable industrial developments and commercial fit-outs €\’ all with a strong emphasis on technical quality, energy performance, and environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the mechanical engineering discipline on education, industrial, and commercial building services projects.
Develop and deliver detailed mechanical designs in line with project requirements, codes, and standards.
Coordinate and collaborate with other MEP disciplines, architects, and external consultants.
Support and mentor junior engineers to promote technical growth and consistent project delivery.
Engage directly with clients to understand their needs and build strong, lasting relationships.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources where appropriate.
Contribute to the adoption of digital and parametric tools to enhance design processes and outcomes.
About You
A degree or HNC in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services (or related discipline).
A proven track record delivering mechanical design for building services projects in the education, industrial, or commercial sectors.
Chartered status (CEng/IEng) or actively working towards it.
The ability to work independently and lead technical delivery on projects.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex concepts.
An interest in or experience with digital tools such as Revit, IES, Dynamo, or similar.
A passion for sustainability and an understanding of low-carbon building design.
