Key Responsibilities
- Prepare contracts, offer letters, and right-to-work checks
- Keep personnel files and employee documentation up to date
- Maintain HR policies, templates, and trackers
- Draft job adverts, post to job boards, and manage applications
- Arrange interviews, coordinate feedback, and run reference checks
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes including inductions and exit interviews
- Provide first-line employee relations advice, support formal meetings, and lead performance management processes
- Act as super-user for benefits platform and drive employee engagement
- Spend time on the shop floor to build rapport and boost workplace culture
- Produce monthly HR metrics and suggest improvements
Skills And Experience Required
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Background in manufacturing, logistics, or other industrial environment
- Working knowledge of UK employment law basics
- CIPD Level 3 (working towards Level 5) or equivalent practical experience
- Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Confident communicator able to build relationships and challenge diplomatically
- A genuine \’roll-up-your-sleeves\’ attitude, comfortable with both admin and people-facing work
