The Position: This opportunity is suited to an experienced engineer with strong expertise in electrical distribution systems (or transmission), including switching, protection, automation, and control technologies. The role involves both technical and strategic input, particularly in aligning product capabilities with customer needs. You will support a range of solutions and services for utility clients across the EMEA region. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will engage with stakeholders at all levels - from technical teams to senior decision-makers. The role also involves hands-on support in the field, including occasional emergency response, and requires regular travel, including overnight stays and some international trips.
- Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to sales teams across the EMEA region
- Deliver expert product support and guidance to customers
- Assist in customer and internal training on equipment and systems
- Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and electrical regulations
- Contribute to product development and adaptation for regional markets
- Support analysis and application of protection systems for distribution networks
- Assist with general sales and customer support activities
- Undertake additional duties as required
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is advantageous
- Experience working with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs)
- Willingness to travel across the UK, Ireland, and occasionally internationally
- Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and enterprise systems (e.g. CRM/ERP platforms)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of medium and high voltage electrical equipment and applications
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities
- Full UK driving licence
