Job Ref: HP-3260 Bristol, United Kingdom Competitive Battery Storage ContractLV Commissioning Engineer - BESS Project - Bristol, England, UK - £Excellent Day Rate - 6 Month Contract - January Start - Monday to Friday (8-10 Hour Days)We are supporting a leading energy storage technology provider in the search for LV Commissioning Engineers/Technicians for a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in South West England.The roles will focus on electrical testing and cold commissioning across the LV scope. Previous BESS experience is beneficial but not essential, making this an opportunity for candidates with transferable commissioning experience across renewable energy and power generation.Key Details:Location: South West EnglandTarget Start: January 2027Duration: 6-9 months + potential extensionsWorking Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8 - 10 hours per dayCommercials: £Excellent day rate, Outside IR35Responsibilities:Carry out LV electrical testing and cold commissioning activities across the BESS installation.Complete installation inspections, electrical checks and functional testing in accordance with approved procedures.Support commissioning activities on systems incorporating 1,500V DC and 690V AC equipment.Identify and troubleshoot electrical faults, recording and reporting defects.Complete test records and commissioning documentation.Coordinate with installation teams and the permanent commissioning team to support readiness for hot commissioning.Follow site safety procedures and electrical isolation requirements.Requirements:Electrical engineering or technician background with power systems testing and commissioning experience.Relevant experience with LV AC and DC equipment; familiarity with 1,500V DC and/or 690V AC systems beneficial.Ability to interpret electrical drawings and follow commissioning procedures.Strong practical fault-finding skills and a clear understanding of AC/DC electrical safety.BESS experience advantageous; solar, wind, substation, gas turbine, steam turbine and wider power generation backgrounds considered.Interested?
