We are supporting a leading European transmission system operator in the appointment of a Technical Lead / Senior Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of a large-scale offshore wind portfolio across Ireland. This position sits at the centre of multiple offshore wind developments (circa 4–5GW pipeline) and will act as the key client-side engineering lead. The role will focus on technical oversight, stakeholder coordination, and engineering due diligence from development through to construction and eventual energisation. This is not a design-heavy role. The successful candidate will operate as a technical authority, ensuring alignment between internal teams, external consultants, and project developers across complex grid and offshore interfaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the lead electrical engineering representative across multiple offshore wind projects on the Irish East Coast
- Provide technical oversight across the full project lifecycle - development, design review, construction, and commissioning through to energisation
- Lead engineering due diligence activities, ensuring designs align with transmission and grid integration requirements
- Coordinate and manage interfaces between internal departments including system planning, future networks, and asset teams
- Manage and align third-party engineering consultancies across various project stages
- Drive clarity and decision-making across complex and evolving project structures
- Support offshore transmission system development including 220kV grid infrastructure and associated export cable systems (66kV / 275kV)
- Represent the organisation in technical discussions with developers, consultants, and external stakeholders
- Provide technical input into offshore operational frameworks and long-term asset strategy
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience delivering offshore wind or large-scale transmission projects
- Strong understanding of power systems, grid integration, and offshore electrical infrastructure
- Demonstrable experience in stakeholder management and multi-disciplinary coordination
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and guide technical decisions
