This is an exciting opportunity to join a global renewables team and take on a key leadership role in the development, construction, and operational phases of large-scale onshore wind, solar, and hybrid projects.
The Role:
As Head of Technical, you will lead a small team of engineers, overseeing technical assessments, yield reports, project optimization, and quality control across a diverse renewables portfolio. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external consultants, ensuring that projects meet the highest technical and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a technical team and provide expertise on wind, solar, and hybrid projects.
- Oversee project assessments, including site constraints, layouts, and optimization.
- Manage wind measurement campaigns and ensure bankable data collection.
- Conduct technical due diligence for project acquisitions and development.
- Collaborate with project managers, procurement teams, and external consultants.
- Evaluate and negotiate technical aspects with OEMs and equipment suppliers.
- Implement best practices for quality control and technical reporting.
- Research emerging technologies to support the company’s growth strategy.
The Person:
- Engineering degree or equivalent technical experience.
- 10+ years in the renewable energy sector, with a strong focus on wind and solar.
- 6+ years of experience in technical assessments, including yield analysis and project design.
- Experience managing a team and working in international environments.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Fluency in English; Spanish is a plus.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
