System Design Engineer – HVDC – Floating Offshore Wind – Scotland, United Kingdom – Hybrid / Remote Working – Contract Position I\’m working closely with a Floating Offshore Wind Developer who is delivering what will become one of the largest floating wind farms in the world off the coast of Scotland. They are now looking to bring in an HVDC Consultant on a 3–6 month contract (potential for extension for the right candidate) to support key transmission activities. Lead HVDC transmission system design at a system-wide level (not component-specific). Ensure the project is fully prepared for the end of Q3 stage gate reviews, specifically from a transmission and budget readiness perspective. Provide strategic input into transmission planning, including potential engagement with TOs and international transmission partners. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure technical and commercial alignment. Proven expertise in HVDC system-level design (ideally from a utility or TSO background). Familiarity with transmission constraints, interface management, and offshore grid connections. Demonstrable track record supporting early-stage wind projects (concept through to design).
