- Commissioning of Protection and Control system
- Lead and support the commissioning process for SCS and Protection installations
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant standards and safety regulations.
- Perform testing and fault diagnosis on the Protection and Control system.
- Prepare and review commissioning documentation, including test reports and certificates.
- Prepare the relevant commissioning folder and schedules.
- Understanding and support of the CSP plan for system return.
Collaboration with Site Teams
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure project timelines are met.
- Provide technical guidance to site teams and offer troubleshooting support.
Health and Safety Compliance
- Adhere to all site-specific health and safety procedures and risk assessments.
- Ensure safe working practices are maintained throughout the commissioning process.
Reporting and Documentation
- Document commissioning activities and report progress to management.
- Ensure all relevant data is accurately logged and signed off as per client requirements.
Customer Liaison
- Liaise with clients, including National Grid, to ensure successful project delivery, including commissioning panel meetings.
- Address any client concerns promptly and professionally.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in commissioning SCADA and Protection systems, preferably in power transmission projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and controls associated with transmission systems.
- Strong knowledge on networking, managed switches, time sync protocols.
- Strong knowledge on related functionalities for ATCC, Synchrocheck and others.
- Strong knowledge on communication protocols, such as IEC61850.
- Experience working on National Grid sites.
- Ability to understand and fault find the electrical scheme design.
- Valid driver license.
Desirable
- National Grid TP141 Authorisation.
- Experience working on SCADA systems such as PACiS, DsAgile, GPG, G500.
- Experience working on Protection schemes, such as DAR, mesh corner, Feeder, Transformer, Busbar.
