Lead Engineer - HVDC - UK

The Role

As HVDC Lead Engineer, you will take ownership of the design, development, and delivery of HVDC systems from concept to commissioning.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams and clients, ensuring technical excellence, safety compliance, and project success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering design and integration of HVDC converter stations and associated equipment.
  • Define system architecture and technical specifications.
  • Oversee performance studies including load flow, transient stability, and fault analysis.
  • Interface with OEMs, utilities, and stakeholders to align technical requirements.
  • Provide expert guidance during installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e. g., IEC, CIGRÉ, IEEE).
