Lead C&I Commissioning Engineer - OCGT Project - Grimsby, United Kingdom - £Excellent Daily Rate - 6 Month Contract + Extensions - Late-September Start Date - Outside IR35
As Lead Controls & Instrumentation (C&I) Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for the commissioning of all control, automation, and instrumentation systems. You will ensure all systems are configured, calibrated, tested, and integrated to deliver reliable and safe plant operation.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all C&I commissioning activities from planning through to final handover
- Commission DCS, PLCs, field instrumentation, control valves, and safety systems
- Conduct loop checks, functional testing, and system integration tests
- Ensure all systems meet performance, safety, and compliance requirements
- Manage commissioning records, as-built documentation, and punch list clearance
Requirements:
- Significant experience in C&I commissioning for OCGT, CCGT, or large power generation projects
- Strong technical knowledge of control systems architecture, instrumentation, and calibration
- Skilled in coordinating between electrical, mechanical, and operations teams
- Excellent organisational, troubleshooting, and communication skills
