Our client a reputable operational site in Bristol is recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Driver to assist with the safe and efficient movement of plant, equipment, and materials across our operations.
This role offers the opportunity to develop specialist skills operating skip lorries, transporting plant and mobile cranes, with full training provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport plant, machinery, and materials using low loader and skip lorries.
- Assist with the movement and positioning of equipment, including supporting mobile crane operations (training provided).
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and ensure defects are reported and recorded appropriately.
- Ensure all loads are secured, compliant, and transported safely.
- Maintain accurate delivery, collection, and vehicle records.
- Work closely with operational teams to support planned movements and site activities.
Essential Requirements
- HGV Class 1 driving licence for a minimum of 2 years.
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Strong awareness of health & safety and safe working practices.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Willingness to undertake specialist training (low loader, skip lorries, mobile cranes).
- Good communication skills and ability to work with site teams.
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience operating low loader or skip lorries.
- Experience working in construction or industrial environments.
- Knowledge of plant and machinery handling.
- Experience assisting with or operating lifting equipment.
- CPCS Loader / Securer (A50) and CPCS Skip Handler (A39), or equivalent NPORS accreditation.
Full specialist training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for drivers looking to expand their skillset into specialist transport and lifting operations.
