Overview
We are looking for a Technical Sales Manager who can work autonomously and take real ownership of developing the sales function. This is not a back-office support role - it is a proactive, hands-on position where you will be expected to drive results, generate leads, and manage the sales pipeline independently.
The company is a specialist in precision engineering, tool making, and press tooling. For over 50 years, they’ve partnered with leading manufacturers across industries like F1 & motorsport, automotive, aerospace, military, construction and electronics. Their reputation is built on bespoke craftsmanship, high quality precision and personalised customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer enquiries, building strong, professional relationships.
- Prepare and issue accurate quotations and estimates, drawing on your technical/engineering knowledge where appropriate.
- Take full ownership of managing the sales pipeline - from lead generation and qualification through to order processing and account management.
- Proactively seek out and develop new business opportunities through networking, prospecting, and follow-ups.
- Maintain and update the CRM system with accurate sales data and customer interactions.
- Liaise closely with engineering and production teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Support the continuous improvement of our sales processes, helping to shape and build out the sales function.
Skills & Experience (Essential)
- Proven ability to work independently and deliver results without close supervision.
- Experience in technical sales, sales support, or account management.
- Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple enquiries and priorities effectively.
- Confident in CRM usage and pipeline management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable with lead generation and winning new business.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills for preparing quotations.
- Background in engineering, manufacturing, or other technical industries.
- Previous experience preparing quotations or estimates for technical projects.
- Familiarity with engineering processes and terminology.
Pay
£40,000.00-£60,000.00 per year PLUS BONUS
