A proactive role in developing the company’s position within the cable market for OEM and electrical contractors in the midlands of England, whilst taking responsibility for the Area achieving its sales targets. This position is home based (candidates ideally based within Greater Sheffield / Doncaster / Leeds region) with regular travel and occasionally overnight stays. The ideal candidate will already have established relationships with key industry players in the local market with extensive geographical knowledge of the region. The position requires a self-motivated individual who can demonstrate both initiative and a successful track record of winning new business.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- To proactively establish new relationships with OEM and End Users making the Company the preferred source of supply for cables and cable accessories;
- Self-generation of sales leads;
- To gather market information regarding volumes and prices to ensure that Company’s prices are competitive and to provide feedback to the Purchasing team regarding stock management;
- To seek market opportunities and to introduce new products both to Company and to the OEM and End Users;
- Following up on sales leads provided by the Marketing Department and Internal Sales team;
- Identifying new areas of growth within the marketplace, product mix and new markets;
- Provide forecasts as required on territory activity;
- Organise and maintain accurate records, call plans and providing regular reports to management;
- Increase business levels;
- Provide feedback on competitor products and activity.
Experience and Qualifications
- Relevant industry experience in similar direct distribution company.
- Experience of specifying technical construction or industrial products an advantage.
- Appropriate technical aptitude and/or qualifications.
- Proven ability to manage own work;
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic;
- Good interpersonal skills.
Package:
- £55,000 - £70,000 basic
- £20,000 commission
- Company Car or Allowance
- 25 days holiday + stats
- 5% Pension
