Are you a technically minded sales professional with experience in the M&E sector? Do you thrive on building relationships, winning specifications, and driving projects from concept through to completion?

We are looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join a growing team focused on delivering innovative lighting controls and intelligent building solutions across the commercial construction market.

The Role

You will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with M&E consultants, contractors, specifiers, and end users to drive sales of advanced lighting control systems and smart building technologies. Working across commercial, education, healthcare, industrial, and mixed-use projects, you will identify opportunities early in the project lifecycle and support customers with technical and commercial solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business opportunities within the M&E and electrical contractor market
  • Secure product specifications with consulting engineers and designers
  • Manage projects from specification through to installation and completion
  • Promote lighting controls, smart building integration, and energy-saving solutions
  • Build strong relationships with M&E consultants, contractors, wholesalers, and end users
  • Deliver technical presentations and CPD sessions
  • Collaborate with internal technical and project teams to ensure successful delivery
  • Monitor market activity, competitor trends, and pipeline opportunities
  • Achieve and exceed agreed sales targets

About You

  • Proven sales experience within lighting controls, electrical products, BMS, HVAC controls, or related M&E solutions
  • Strong understanding of the specification sales process
  • Established contacts within the M&E consultant and contractor community
  • Commercially focused with excellent relationship-building skills
  • Technically competent and confident discussing smart building technologies
  • Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage a territory effectively
  • Full UK driving licence
