WHAT IS THE ROLE?

Hunter & Gather is building an always-on creative engine across Brand and Performance, and this role sits at the heart of making it happen.

As our Content Creator, you'll be one of the core makers across two connected creative pipelines: Brand/Organic and Performance.

You'll take clear strategic briefs and turn them into distinctive, platform-native content through concept development, scripting, shooting, editing and production.

On the Brand side, you'll create founder and team content, social series, education, product storytelling, launches and distinctive organic content that builds fame, affinity and recognition.

On the Performance side, you'll work closely with our Performance Creative Strategist to turn customer insights and creative hypotheses into testable paid-social content, including direct-response video, UGC-style creative, product demonstrations, hook variations and rapid iterations of winning concepts.

You are a creative maker, not simply an executor.

We want you to contribute ideas, challenge briefs and bring strong creative judgement to the work.

But strategic accountability remains clear: the organic/social owner determines what we need to communicate organically and why; the Performance Creative Strategist owns what we need to test in paid and why; you help determine how those ideas become brilliant content.

You'll also help make our in-house studio an always-on content environment, regularly shooting our founders, team, products, experts and creators.

You'll be comfortable moving between polished brand storytelling and fast, native performance creative depending on what the brief requires.

You'll continue to act as a mini producer where required, planning shoots, coordinating talent, locations, freelancers and equipment, and keeping production organised and on budget.

ESSENTIAL

  • A strong portfolio/showreel of social-first video content you have personally created and edited
  • Proven self-shooting ability — confident planning, filming and directing content on both camera and phone
  • Advanced video editing skills (e. g. Premiere Pro, After Effects, Cap Cut or equivalent), including short-form social formats
  • Strong creative instincts across both organic and performance content - able to take a strategic brief, develop compelling executions and understand how the treatment should change depending on the channel and objective
  • Strong understanding of paid-social and direct-response creative, including hooks, pacing, UGC-native formats, product demonstration, social proof, calls to action and rapid creative iteration
  • Experience creating or editing paid-social for Meta, Tik Tok or other performance channels, with an understanding of how performance creative differs from organic content
  • Production management experience — organising shoots, talent, locations, freelancers, budgets and logistics
  • Practical motion-graphic capability – confident adding animated text, graphics, product call-outs and other motion treatments appropriate for social-first videos and paid creative

DESIRABLE

  • Photography and stills capability alongside video
  • Experience in food, wellness or lifestyle/beauty brands
  • Genuine interest in an ancestrally influenced lifestyle the wider health and wellness space

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creative Development Across Brand & Performance
  • Work from the organic/social strategy and briefs set by the organic channel owner, contributing strong creative ideas, treatments, formats and executions.
  • Work from the Performance Creative Strategist's testing roadmap and briefs to turn hypotheses, hooks, propositions and customer insights into paid-social creative.
  • Bring creative judgement to both pipelines: challenge briefs, originate executions and continually improve how ideas are brought to life.
  • Understand that Brand and Performance have different objectives and creative rhythms, and adapt the execution accordingly.
  • Actively share ideas and learnings across the two pipelines so organic winners can inspire paid creative and performance learnings can inform Brand content.
  • Stay close to platform trends, culture, creative formats and category activity without simply copying what everyone else is doing.
  • Content Creation & Video Editing
  • Create content end-to-end: develop executions, script, storyboard, shoot, direct, edit and deliver finished assets.
  • Produce social-native content at pace across both organic and paid channels.
  • Create founder, team, product, expert and creator-led video using both professional camera equipment and phone-native production.
  • Create and iterate paid-social assets including hook variants, direct-response edits, UGC-style content, product demonstrations, testimonials, social proof and winning-ad iterations.
  • Create organic content including recurring social series, founder storytelling, education, product stories, launches, cultural moments and behind-the-scenes content.
  • Build cut-downs, remixes and variations from existing footage rather than assuming every new asset requires a new shoot.
  • Maintain the Hunter & Gather creative standard across both Brand and Performance, understanding that high-performing creative does not have to mean off-brand creative.
  • Brand & Studio Production
  • Lead and support content production for launches, campaigns, founder content, product storytelling and hero brand moments.
  • Make regular use of Hunter & Gather's in-house studio to produce founder, team, expert, product and creator content.
  • Help establish repeatable studio setups for lighting, sound, camera and set so content can be created quickly without every shoot becoming a major production.
  • Capture shoots intelligently so footage can serve multiple channels and objectives, including organic, paid social, CRM, site, Amazon and PR.
  • Work with the Performance Creative Strategist ahead of relevant shoots to ensure useful performance hooks, formats and executions are captured while talent and cameras are available.
  • Plan and run shoots end to end: schedules, talent, locations, kit, freelancers and budgets
  • Manage freelance creative and production resource where needed to scale output
  • Keep an organised asset library so content is easy to find, repurpose and amplify
  • Use freelancers and external production resource intelligently when the concept requires skills or capacity beyond the internal team
  • Collaborate closely with the Social & Advocacy Manager to turn organic strategy and content briefs into excellent creative.
  • Collaborate closely with the Performance Creative Strategist to turn the paid testing roadmap into video and motion assets at the pace Growth requires.
  • Work closely with internal designers to develop world-class static assets
  • Work with creator footage supplied through our advocacy/creator ecosystem, adapting and editing it for Brand and Performance where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with external creative partners where useful, while helping build more of Hunter & Gather's creative capability internally.
  • Share footage, assets and learnings across Brand and Performance so the two creative systems strengthen one another
