Role & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit planning applications and appeals, including managing the pre-application process and planning notes on land and buildings.
  • Provide guidance on local and national planning frameworks.
  • Provide strategic advice on planning framework and law, developing strategies for approval of sensitive projects.
  • Coordinate the preparation of Planning Statements, Design and Access Statements, and contribute to Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs).
  • Manage the preparation of supporting documents for development and infrastructure schemes, including Development Consent Orders.
  • Assist clients with the planning process and provide solutions to overcome planning challenges.
  • Negotiate with local authorities and key stakeholders.
  • Provide strategies to internal teams and be a primary point of contact for planning related matters.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of industry experience, private or public sector.
  • Proven background working on a variety of projects including historical/listed buildings and sensitive projects.
  • Experience with projects across London and Hampshire, ideally with relationships in both locations.
  • Client-facing experience and strong communication skills.
  • Ideally degree qualified in town planning, urban design, or similar; MRTPI / MRICS preferred but not essential.
