About the Role
An Architectural Technician job is now available in Kenilworth, Warwickshire, working on fast-paced hospitality, retail and commercial fit-out projects. This position sits within the interior architecture and brand rollout sector and requires a minimum of five years UK experience in an architectural or design-led environment. The Architectural Technician will take ownership of technical drawing packages, coordinating with designers, consultants and contractors to deliver high-quality information to tight deadlines. Based in Kenilworth with hybrid working available, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to national brand rollout schemes and interior environment projects within a collaborative studio environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce detailed working drawings and comprehensive technical packages using AutoCAD.
- Lead projects through relevant RIBA stages, particularly technical design and construction documentation.
- Prepare and submit statutory applications including Planning and Building Regulations.
- Coordinate consultants, contractors and stakeholders to resolve technical queries.
- Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations, Planning policy and CDM Regulations.
- Prepare pavement licence drawings and as-built drawings for Health & Safety files.
- Attend client, design team and site meetings, representing the practice professionally.
- Assist with measured surveys and building surveys, independently or alongside senior staff.
- Support delivery of hospitality, retail and commercial fit-out and brand rollout projects.
- Maintain awareness of construction methods, regulatory updates and technical standards.
- Assist in maintaining the technical library and supporting wider project administration.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years UK experience as an Architectural Technician or Architectural Technologist.
- HNC, HND or Degree in Architectural Technology, Architecture, Interior Design or a related discipline.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK construction methods, detailing and building systems.
- Proven experience producing detailed technical drawing packages and specifications.
- Experience working on hospitality, retail, commercial or interior fit-out projects.
- Good understanding of Planning, Building Regulations and CDM 2015.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of Vectorworks.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Acrobat.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Ability to manage projects independently and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
