Senior Fire Engineer job in Edinburgh for an established and leading fire consultancy. As a key part of the Fire Engineering team, you will be working through all stages of complex fire engineering projects and reporting to an Associate level fire engineer. The role offers a salary of £45,000 - £55,000, bonus, 27 days holiday, bank holidays, hybrid working, healthcare, and continuous CPD/professional development.
They offer strategic advice, innovative design, construction oversight, and risk management services to a wide range of clients in the UK and worldwide. Established nearly 15 years ago, they are an award-winning consultancy working closely with councils, architects, and design teams to embed safety at the heart of architectural ambition. They work across a variety of sectors including commercial, residential, education, transport, healthcare, hospitality, and nuclear.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead on complex fire engineering projects
- Review of technical packages during RIBA Stages 4 and 5
- Support and mentor Grad to Fire Engineer level within your team
- Lead workshops/meetings to discuss design solutions
- Implementing fire strategies during construction phase and retrospective fire strategies
- Produce technical engineering reports and review technical packages of contractors
- Project manage from start to end including financials, quality management planning, and customer care
- Client facing through the lifecycle of projects
- Contribute to work winning
Required Skills & Experience
- Engineering Council Accredited BEng Hons, MEng or MSc
- CEng, MRICS, MCABE or working towards
- Minimum Associate Member of IFE
- Extensive experience in delivering fire-engineered solutions for UK based projects
- Strong understanding of UK legislation/regulations and design guidance (will also consider applicants from New Zealand or Australia with similar regulations)
- Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, working to tight deadlines
- UK Driving Licence and own vehicle
