Overview of the Role
Senior Landscape Architect job in Birmingham, supporting the delivery of university, schools and commercial office projects. Working alongside senior landscape leadership, you will manage design and project delivery, maintain client relationships, mentor team members and contribute to regional business development across standalone landscape commissions and wider consultancy projects.
Practice & Project Information
This established practice delivers landscape architectural services from its Birmingham studio and associated regional locations. Current work includes university, schools and commercial office projects. The role involves collaboration across regional studios, with travel to Oxford and Leeds when supporting bids and new opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage landscape design and project delivery alongside senior leadership across the Birmingham and associated regional studios.
- Provide design direction, quality control and consistency throughout project delivery.
- Prepare concept, detailed and technical landscape designs using CAD, BIM and hand drawing methods.
- Coordinate technical information, statutory requirements, engineering disciplines and manufacturer information.
- Attend client, design team and site meetings, managing actions through to completion.
- Support client relationships, project financial controls, team mentoring, workload planning and regional business development.
Required Skills and Experience
- At least five years post-qualification experience as a Landscape Architect, with Landscape Institute membership.
- BA or BSc in Landscape Architecture or a related field.
- Proven design management and project delivery experience across landscape architecture and public realm projects.
- Strong drawing, presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Google SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of technical standards, environmental design, health and safety, CDM Regulations 2015, Building Safety Act responsibilities and Building Regulations compliance.
